TOP FASHION FAUX PAS

Some of you might me completely petrified by this today, apologies;but I have to mention it that all of us have gone through these or must have definitely made similar kind of fashion blunders sometimes in the past. Lets brush on through our fashion faux pas and swearing on that we wouldn't repeat it any further because they are actually so not fashionable and tacky.

1)  Socks and Sandles

OMG! It seems like this is oxymoronic  fashion trend would never go away.In winter's why can't we just wear a sneaker rather than a sandal?

2) Exposed Bra strap

Do you actually think  bra strap peeking out from your tank tops or dresses increases your sex appeal or give you an oomph factor.Com'on are you kidding me?It rather makes you look amateur and unfashionable. You can rather wear a strapless or a racerback bra to prevent this kind of fashion blunder.

3) Low slung trouser

Probably the most impractical fashion blunder, the low slung trouser is now like an epidemic.Young people are so keen to show their underwear that they would rather jeopardize their ability to walk. Sounds funny but its a bizarre fashion faux pas.

4) Wrong color inner wear

Wearing a black inner wear under a white tank? A big time 'NO'. And yes, some of us do pick wrong color inner wear and wear it with wrong color top.

5) Crop tops

Crop tops are considered one of the biggest fashion trend for women. If you have a toned abs and a shaped figure, its good enough.but if you have a flappy stomach please don't make it a fashion disaster.Wear a decent fit pair of jeans and team it up with a long tee to cover up your chubby stomach.

6) Corporate wear with sneaker

Please don't do this to yourself. I am  quite definite that most of us have gone through this.Use your sneakers for workouts and play and rather stick to heels or loafers for business.

7) Harem pants

Harem pants are so out of business. There are nothing quite like harem pants to make you look as if you're wearing an over sized nappy. lol .Even impeccably fashionable Elle Macpherson couldn't pull them off.

8) Super tight clothing

I can understand that some of us might be so attached to some of our clothes that we would like to jeopardize our style and comfort and would literally squeeze our self into some of our sentimental favorites. But hello, wake up.Its time for you to donate those old clothes and hit the mall for appropriately sized-threads.

9) Shell -suit and velour track-suits

For heaven's sake, who wears that? It has always looked horrendous and will always look horrendous. Unless you are an 70's or 80's sportsman, stay away from shell suits. Velour tracks are so not fashionable keep away from it for the sake of future generation.

10) Scrunchies

Thanks to the Holy Lord!somebody objected to it.It had its heyday in the 80's and 90's but now its been relegated to the no-go zone.

I am so sure that all of us must have definitely been a victim of these fashion faux pas and have seen people around us flaunting these fashion blunders in their everyday life. And i now hope that we would not repeat these fashion blunders again and would therefore be rescued from the hilarious comments and sarcasm of the so called fashion literates. ;)

"What It Means When You Dream About Fashion!!"

I am just doing less of writing today, cause i really found something which is worth reading. I was just going through the website of the November issue of the Elle magazine and perceived something which is actually worth reading so the thought of sharing the same with you struck my mind.Hope you would find it worth reading too. "WHAT IT MEANS WHEN YOU DREAM ABOUT FASHION!!!" Find out for yourself...

We've all done it: rolled over, sleep dust cornering our eyelids, eager to recount last night's dream before our voice even finds its footing. We want to talk about the bizarre things we saw, to analyze them. But what about when we dream of mundane things? Should we dismiss them since they don't make quite the same pillow talk as those part-unicorn, part-Cameron Diaz hybrids?

Well, no. As dream expert Lauri Loewenberg attests, the everyday motifs we see in our dreams—roads, lakes, teeth, books—are just as important, if not more, than the amazingly unique ones. In the lawless, Wild West landscape of the dream world, it's these familiar images that experts can actually lasso, track, and study, illuminating the deeper meaning behind them in the process.

And as it turns out, clothing is one of the most frequent themes to pop up in our subconscious. According to Loewenberg, author of Dream On It: Unlock Your Dreams, Change Your Life, there's a rhyme and reason to the wardrobe we see while we sleep. Below, her guide to decoding the most common fashion, accessory and clothing-related issues in our dreams:

Shoes

Shoes represent confidence. If you find your subconscious self wobbling around missing a stiletto, it may be a sign you're feeling vulnerable. But if you’ve got visions of yourself planted firmly in a pair of chunky platforms, it could reflect your real life sure-footedness.

Lingerie

Dreaming of yourself in a state of undress tends to be your mind’s way of manifesting insecurities—but deeper, emotional insecurities, not just physical ones.

Ripped Clothes

Seeing ripped clothing in your dreams usually signals that you’re going through grief or other stressful moments. If you’re picturing yourself in tattered Levi's, it's typically bad news—no matter how great your dream self looks in that distressed denim.

Earrings

To the dreaming mind, the earring isn't about embellishment, it's about your ability to listen to others. It's very common to lose an earring in a dream, a good indication you're refusing to listen to someone else's point of view or you aren't truly hearing what they're trying to tell you.

Sunglasses

In dreams, sunglasses symbolize your desire to turn a blind eye towards an unwanted truth. If your constantly dreaming of yourself in your Ray-Bans, you may want to take a deeper inventory of your life.

Purses

We keep our money, our IDs and credit cards safe within our purses and handbag, so in a dream, they represent our sense of self-worth, our credibility and our identity. Losing your purse or having it stolen in a dream suggests you may be going through a bit of an identity crisis, feeling worthless or even that you are not getting the credit that you deserve. On the other hand, if you are carrying an awesome bag—a Mulberry tote or McQueen minaudiere—it indicates you are feeling secure and even proud in who you are.
Stains and Spills

Searching for a Tide pen in your subconscious signals that your waking mind is feeling guilty and eager to clean up a mess.

Prints

Prints and patterns represent consistency, so if you dream of plaids and polka dots, you’re probably feeling confident in your sense of style and your ability to express yourself.

Shopping

Your mind's trying to tell you that your options are endless, from new love interests to career advances. In our dreams, shopping's a good thing—just like in real life.

Hope the above excerpt from the Elle magazine was worth reading for you. :)

SUPERMODELS THEN AND NOW....

The other day i watched the HBO's documentary 'About Face' and was really inspired by the wonderful ladies who made it to the Fashion world in the 60's. In the movie ladies were quoted saying that, 'Nobody aspired to become a model in  the 60's cause models were considered to be hookers.' Strange isn't it. It's not an easy job to become a MODEL..neither it is today nor was it in the 60's. Have you ever thought how difficult the life of a model could be,when they literally starve themselves to death in order to stay skinny and then after a day of hard work and struggle all they feed themselves is with a slice of Cheese. In order to get rid of the depression and the burden of work most models end up getting themselves addicted to drugs.Models are however considered dumb and they don't portray anything but an image. They are treated as hangers.**PHEW**.Strange but True and most of us we know it right? Behind those bold, flashy, glamorous, beautiful and ever smiling faces lies a lot of struggle, hardship and sorrow. They are always in a constant fear that at any moment somebody might come and replace them but in spite of this fear they are confident and they carry themselves off like a diva.
Well friends,i would be thereby like to introduce you to a few of such fashion diva's of the 60's who made it to the top with their confidence, elegance and beauty and left a footprint for the aspiring models of the later generation. They are the legends.Take a look.

1) CHINA MACHADO

You might not have heard about the name CHINA(pronounced cheena)MACHADO, but the legendary 83 years old has a modelling pedigree which model's of today's generation can only dream of. Aside from being a muse of Givenchy, Machado's most famous work was with Richard Avedon, who photographed her many times and she was the first non-Caucasian model to be featured in a leading fashion magazine in February1959.
Machado was once quoted saying ,"When i modeled,we ha to know the clothes,we had to know how to move", she explained. "These poor girls just come in and they are thrown i the closet and walk out. When i was in Givenchy, the clothes were made in the models, and we were really prod of the clothes we wore,so we showed them in a different way."

2) MARISA BERENSON

Marisa Berenson is an America actress and a model born on15th Feb,1947,in New York City. From her earliest breath VITTORIA MARISA SCHIAPARRELI BENSON has lived her life in the sight of the camera's lens. The world's 'oldest working model' has kicked off her 80's with a running start and shows no sign of slowing down even after a double knee surgery earlier this year. While Carmen continues to pose for big-name brands like Rolex and walked in two shows at New York fashion week we are reintroduced to the model on the Daily Mail's YOU MAGAZINE,which contains an in depth interview of the model in the August issue. Of her seven decades of active modelling Carmen says ," As a model i didn't have an identity;i was a chameleon,a silent actress. I was an amorphous thing.I wasn't full of personality,I was full of solitude and solemnity.I wasn't a cover girl type.I've had more covers in the past 15years than i had in all the years before that."

4) BEVERLY JOHNSON

"Beverly Johnson is one of the most beautiful woman I've had the privilege of photographing," Fransesco Scavullo once said. It was Scavullo who immortalized the model with a history-making cover in 1974.It was Johnson's first for the magazine-and,more to the point, the first time a black woman had ever taken the prized position." I didnt know it would be so profound,I just wanted to be on it,because that's where you had to be, to be a top model.I didn't realize the significance and change we are embarking on-black woman being accepted.Afterwards i knew" - she later said.

5) JERRY HALL

Born on July 2,1956 in Gonzalez,Texas Jerry Hall left home to pursue her modeling career in Paris at the age of 16,carrying nothing but a suitcase full of Frederick's Knockoffs fashioned by her mom. With waist long blonde hair and standing nearly 6 feet tall,Jerry was soon making thousands of dollars a week as a fashion model. She has modeled for all famous photographers and big brand names and have been on the cover for fashion magazine's like Vogue,Elle to name just a few.She is an actor,a model and known for her long-term relationship with former partner Mick Jagger.

I had to earn a living, and luckily for me it was just a matter of a quick trip up to the Ford Agency.I was in the right place at the right time with the right look."-she says. And after that that was no looking back for her.She moved on and today she is considered as one of the legendary super model of all times.

Alexis ,the famous cover girl of the 80's stars in the HBO's documentary "About Face:Supermodels Then and Now".
"Modelling is a lonely business. Its a silent business ,you don't speak. You don't really portray anything but an image. The business is so superfluous about dealing with the outside,it messes with your mind.My son said, thank you for never doing nudes because i would have had to hear it from someone else."-she was quoted saying on Fox and Friends.
She is a very disciplined yet elegant model of all times.
